Most concise shipping container (ISBU) resource yet.

Shipping container ISBU homes are gaining in popularity every day. It is probably because it is a sturdy, viable, cheap mode of construction along with using an existing resource that is piled high in ports and rail cities around the world. It is also the keyword used most that brings folks to my site and the reason for many phone calls from people looking for more information.

Today I found what is probably the best resource for more information that I have seen yet.

The ISBU (Intermodal Steel Building Units and Container Homes) Association has developed a very concise website to serve as a resource to those interested in learning more about them. The goal of this site is to Educate, Promote and Support. “ISBU-Info.Org is not just another Online Magazine with information regarding ISO Shipping Container usage and ISBU home construction. We are an organization and Resource Center to organize and promote the use of ISBU Shipping Container for safe housing, building, and construction. Our purpose is to promote your new construction projects, designs, ideas, related building accessories, inventions, products, and services.”

Finding sites like the ISBU Association’s and Isotecture.com are excellent, worthwhile resources and worth checking out if you are considering any shipping container ISBU project, whether it be a garden shed, home or commercial building. There is a lot of anecdotal information and photos out there, but nothing like these sites that I have seen before.
