What if you never had to plug in your cell phone or ipod ever again?

home_productSeems like a tall order and well, it is.  But it is an order that has been is going to be filled soon if nPower’s PEG lives up to it’s promises when launched.

The nPower™ PEG is an environmentally friendly, portable way to recharge your handheld electronic devices including your cell phone, MP3 player, PDA, digital camera, and GPS.

nPower™ provides you never-ending security, communication, and entertainment when you need it most; while you are on the go. The power is in you!

Basically, what the PEG does is harvest the kinetic energy that you generate when walking and moving about.

The up and down movement from your walking or running creates kinetic energy. The nPower™ PEG:

  • Harvests kinetic energy to charge handheld electronic devices at the
same rate as a wall charger, which means most devices reach an 80%
charge with just an hour of walking throughout the day.
  • Is a green technology that literally allows you to create renewable
energy by walking, thus reducing your personal carbon footprint.
  • Is compatible with over 90% of handheld electronic devices, including
cell phones, MP3 players, handheld gaming devices, handheld GPS,
    digital cameras, and more.

The PEG is currently set to be released for pre-order soon and lists at $150. A little high for me, however, if it were priced right I could see this becoming a must have energy saving device. I would even venture to say that it could be very worthwhile to package this device with compatible gadgets to save on the manufacture of power blocks. Or better yet, sell a single device and package all gadgets with the correct tip for charging.  It could become an industry standard.  Is that too tall an order?
