SLC’s Gorilla Design featured on MSNBC for Shipping Container Homes!
I love what they are doing over at Gorilla Design so I am very happy to see that they were featured this week on MSNBC, thanks to a trip to the Sustainable Design Conference.

Not only are these homes designed and built around shipping containers, they are also beautiful with features such as 19 foot atriums. In addition they are 84-96% more efficient than a conventional home and designed to work with both solar and wind power. The home pictured above was built in Santa Clara, UT.
Features of a Gorilla Design home:
• passive solar design
• solar panels (photo voltaic & thermal)
• vertical axis wind turbine
• radiant heating and cooling
• fully engineered virtual energy modeling to increase overall efficiency
• R36 exterior walls / R50 ceilings
• long-lasting, highly efficient LED lighting
• double insulated windows
